Dr Aleksandra Mladenovic Djordjevic is Associate Professor at the Institute for Biological Research “Sinisa Stankovic”, University of Belgrade, Serbia. She received her B.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Belgrade, Serbia. Her post-doctoral training was at the laboratory for molecular neurobiology at the Institute for Biological Research “Sinisa Stankovic”. In 2003 she received a permanent position at the IBISS, where she is working presently on several research projects on neurodegenerative disease, brain ageing, frailty and environmental interventions to postpone ageing. Aleksandra Mladenovic Djordjevic is a member of Editorial Board of “Science Matters” and a Guest Editor of a special issue of Mechanisms of Aging and Development. She was giving lectures in a number of international and domestic conferences. She is a member of several Intergovernmental frameworks for European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST action). She is actively involved in Serbian Biochemical society, Serbian Neuroscience Society and Federation of European Neuroscience Societies (FENS).
