Elena’s interest in healthy life extension was first sparked in 2011 after she had to face the age-related illness and death of several family members in a row. At that point, Elena decided to switch from medical advertisement industry, where she used to work, to life extension, and make her skills in management, writing, education, psychology, and public speaking serve the purpose of ending aging. She started giving talks about aging and rejuvenation technologies in 2013 as a member of the Russian Transhumanist Movement. From 2014 to 2016, Elena took part in several education and advocacy initiatives in the Russian Federation, including improvements to the government's Strategy for acting in the interests of older citizens. In 2015, she co-authored a book in Russian titled "Aging Prevention for Everyone".

Since 2016, Elena has been working with LEAF/Lifespan.io as its Outreach Director. During this time, she has organized the "6 ways to talk about ending aging" conference, which was held in Moscow in 2017; led several advocacy initiatives to improve WHO policies on population aging; spoke at multiple scientific and public events; and organized several collaborations of LEAF/Lifespan.io with large media companies to help promote the idea of ending aging in many countries. Elena also writes for the LEAF/Lifespan.io blog on the topics of effective communication strategy, policies related to population aging, bottlenecks in the development of rejuvenation therapies, public concerns, and personal longevity strategies.
