Florian Kronenberg is a medical doctor and full professor of Genetic Epidemiology at the Medical University of Innsbruck. He serves as the Director of the Department of Medical Genetics, Molecular and Clinical Pharmacology and the Head of the Division of Genetic Epidemiology. In addition he is an executive board member of the Austrian Society of Human Genetics. He has over 370 papers published. He serves as the associate editor of Atherosclerosis and as Academic editor of PLoS One. In addition he is on the editorial board of several journals including Experimental Gerontology, Gerontology and Scientific Reports. His research focuses on the genetics of complex diseases such as atherosclerosis, kidney diseases, and lipoprotein metabolism with a special focus on lipoprotein(a).
