Georges Janssens is a postdoctoral researcher in the translational metabolism group of Riekelt Houtkooper at the Amsterdam University Medical Center in the Netherlands. There, under a fellowship supported by the Federation of European Biochemistry Societies (FEBS), he works to elucidate the basic mechanisms of ageing, develop metabolic and lipidomic biomarkers that can track the ageing process, and develop therapeutics to slow or reverse ageing. Prior to being in Amsterdam, Georges performed a postdoc at the Karolinska institutet in Stockholm, Sweden, on computer-learning based drug discovery to reverse age-related changes, and prior to this, completed a PhD in systems biology of ageing at the European Research Institute for the Biology of Ageing in Groningen, The Netherlands.
