Dr. de Magalhães is associate professor at the University of Liverpool and an affiliate Principal Investigator in the Neuroendocrinology and Aging Group at the University of Coimbra in Portugal. He leads the Integrative Genomics of Ageing Group (http://pcwww.liv.ac.uk/~aging/) which focuses on understanding the genetic, cellular, and molecular mechanisms of ageing. Dr. de Magalhães gained his PhD at the University of Namur under Prof. Olivier Toussaint followed by postdoctoral work in the lab of Prof. George Church. His lab focuses on the genetics of aging and has conducted pioneering work in sequencing the genome of long-lived species. Dr. de Magalhães leads the Human Ageing Genomic Resources (HAGR) project and the Digital Aging Atlas project.
