​Dr. Salvador Ventura is a Professor at the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and leader of the Protein Folding and Design group at the Institute of Biotechnology and Biomedicine, Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). He has authored more than 80 peer-reviewed research and review papers on protein folding and proteomics, apart from several book chapters and patents. His research interests are protein folding, misfolding and amyloid formation, with special focus on their role in conformational diseases such as Alzheimer’s, diabetes, mitochondrial and prion disorders.
